Can't say I agree so much on Antichrist however. I love Lars Von Trier. Love him. I've seen all of his films and look forward to each new one with a fervor. This one left me...unfulfilled, I guess. It was beautifully shot as to be expected and the performances were indeed daring, but it all felt so obvious to me. The symbolism, the stages of grief, eden, etc. Honestly, I was too bored to be terrified. While it was certainly graphic enough to be lumped in with the likes of Salo, Antichrist has none of the resonance of Pasolini's cautionary tale of fascism.
